Today, the Montenegrin Women's Lobby (CŽL) marked the 28th anniversary of the crime in Štrpci with a performance - a symbolic stop at the train station in Podgorica.
They said that CŽL, as a peace and activist organization that has been dedicated for more than two decades to confronting the past, to justice and to nurturing and improving the memory of all violations of rights and war crimes, reminds them so that they are not forgotten and never repeated to anyone.
"The kidnapping and cruel liquidation of passengers in Štrpci showed how endangered members of minorities were, and especially how dangerous it was to belong to the Bosniak and Muslim identities. The crime in Štrpci is one of a series of those that warn us as a society that we did not behave appropriately towards the war victims. crimes and criminals from the territory of Montenegro and the former Yugoslavia. Not even 28 years after that terrible event, most of the families of the victims did not find out what happened to the remains of their loved ones, and the orderers, instigators and perpetrators of the crime were not brought to justice and held accountable for their crimes. on February 671, 27, death train number 1993 stopped so that people could be taken out, tortured and killed because of the "wrong" name, so justice for the victims and their families stopped and remained unattainable and silent, which is unforgivable and unacceptable in any democratic countries," the announcement states.

CŽL called on the authorities at the state and local level to create their own initiatives and strengthen support for the cultivation of memory and collective memory of serious violations of human rights and war crimes committed in the territories of Montenegro and the former Yugoslavia, "especially because of young people who are increasingly being recognized and identified with nationalism and radical and extreme forms of discrimination, fascism and racism".
"Young people should be helped through programs and actions so that they do not identify and identify with retrograde ideas and concepts of nationalism, which in the long term destroy their being and return the entire society to the dead and dark ideologies. Certainly, all victims should be treated with respect and deep piety." , the announcement concludes.
