The Minister of Justice, Human and Minority Rights, Vladimir Leposavić, visited today, in the shelter of the LGBTIQ organization Forum Progres, a young man who was attacked two days ago in Podgorica.
As stated in the Ministry's announcement, Leposavic expressed his full support for the member of Forum Progres, expressing hope for a quick recovery from the severe physical and mental injuries he suffered from those who, unlike him, are cowards.
"The competent institutions will do everything to ensure that the perpetrators, and possibly the instigators, of this heinous attack are discovered and punished. Only in this way will an adequate message be sent to all those who intend to poison this society with hatred and intolerance, especially when hatred and violence are directed towards members of the vulnerable group as it is, without a doubt, the LGBTIQ community," said Leposavić.
According to the statement, he said that the attackers, in the dark, attacked the life, health and freedom of an innocent young man at the moment when he was visiting his parents.
"It is clear that the perpetrators are trying to stop the civilizational and moral progress of the entire society, and to keep the entire community in the mire of hatred," said Leposavic.
He also emphasized that that time is inevitably upon us.
"No citizen of this country will suffer stigma due to national, racial or religious affiliation, sexual or any other orientation," concluded Leposavic.
