In the Dukley marina in Budva this morning, there was a minor environmental incident when around seven o'clock the crew of the seized Albanian trawler "Gimi & Geri", which is tied up in the water area of the city marina, pumped the bilge water of that ship into the sea.
The content of the ship's bilge has a lot of oil and oil in it, so a greasy stain soon formed in the sea, which the workers of Dukley Marina immediately surrounded with a floating dam and informed the Maritime Safety and Port Management Administration of Montenegro in Bar and the office of the Bar Port Authority in Budva about the incident.
The UPS team came to the scene and broke up the remains of the stain with dispersants and picked it up with special absorbents, and the navigation safety inspector from Bar took further measures within his jurisdiction towards the captain of the Albanian fishing boat.
On the trawler "Gimi & Geri", which was detained and seized three days ago after it was caught illegally fishing about a mile inside the territorial waters of Montenegro southwest of Petrovac, there are four crew members - two Albanians and two Egyptian citizens.
The Montenegrin Fishery Inspection and the Maritime Police confiscated the Albanian fishing vessel, its tools and equipment, as well as the entire catch of about 180 kilograms of fish and marine organisms found on board when it was caught poaching in Montenegrin waters.
