According to data from the Water and Sewerage Company, the coverage of the city area of Kolašina by the fecal sewage system is still only 20 percent. The total length of the fecal sewage collector is only 3,5 kilometers, and 369 Kolašin households and 67 users from other categories are connected to that system.
In order to solve this problem, with the proposed investment program, through minimal, basic and long-term projects, almost 11 million euros should be invested in the improvement of wastewater treatment in Kolašin. The investment program was proposed through the Sewerage and Water Supply System Development Study of that municipality, which was completed last year.
"For now, the fecal sewage system covers the largest part of the city core, as well as the parts through which the main drainage channel passes towards the 'lagoons'. In other parts of the city, in suburban settlements, the fecal sewage system has not been built, so waste water from buildings is disposed of in septic tanks," the document states.
The collection of waste water from the city and part of the suburban settlements is still carried out in open pools, the so-called "lagoons" on the banks of the Tara River in the settlement of Breza.
The investment program foresees that almost six million euros will be invested in improving the quality of water supply, also through minimal, basic and long-term projects.
The company Vodovod i Kanalizacija, as written in this year's Plan, intends, among other things, to participate in the project that will provide the necessary amounts of water for the city, but also for snowmaking on the slopes of the ski centers Kolašin 1600 and Kolašin 1450.
