Today, the Minister of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism, Ratko Mitrović, together with the residents of Grbavac, visited the "Bolje sestre" water source, as well as problematic locations in the immediate vicinity of Miranglavica hill, where, as announced by the ministry, illegal exploitation of sand and gravel has been taking place for years.

"An end must be put to the uncontrolled, wild and irresponsible exploitation of gravel from the Morača bed. This is a serious problem that can threaten the supply of drinking water to the Montenegrin coast, and the generosity of the springs and the quality of the water must not be questioned," said Mitrović.

The locality of Miranglavica and the spring of Bolje sestre was, as announced, also visited by the President of the Assembly Aleksa Bečić, who on that occasion exchanged opinions with Mitrović on the importance of Morača and the mentioned water source.

Mitrović emphasized that the Bolje sestre water source is one of the 150 most important karst points in the world.

"It is necessary, without delay, to protect Morača and Bolje sestre, because the minimum yield of the water source has been reduced several times compared to the minimums recorded in the period 2010-2019," said Mitrović.

As it was announced, the Minister also visited the Regional Waterworks pumping station for Better Sisters and spoke with the Director of the Regional Waterworks, Goran Jevrić.

Together with the minister and citizens, the state secretary for ecology Danilo Mrdak, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Water Administration and the Hydrometeorological Institute visited the water source.
