Representatives of the residents of the Dahna-Kolovrat settlement sent a letter to the mayor of Podgorica, Ivan Vuković, the deputy mayor, Slađana Vujačić, and the city's chief architect, Filip Aleksić, in which they informed them of the numerous shortcomings of the design solution for the development of the location next to the Slovenski most and called on them to stand up for elimination of perceived deficiencies.
In the letter, it was pointed out that from the beginning of the implementation of this project, the citizens were reserved regarding the quality of the design solution, bearing in mind that they were officially aware that the Public Works Administration initiated the procedure of revoking the license of the same designer at the end of 2019, due to major defects and errors. in the implementation of tasks entrusted to them by that state institution.
The residents of this part of Dahne expressed their gratitude to the Capital City for responding to the petition of a group of nearly 020 citizens by signing a donor agreement on the development of the location, through the Mikro 100 program.
Thanks to such self-organization of citizens, the until recently landfill of construction debris and municipal waste will be replaced by a modern sports and recreational zone.
Bearing in mind the obvious intention of the Capital City to provide the residents of Dahna, especially children, with a location for play and sports activities, the locals call on the city administration to make an extra effort, so that the location fully meets all safety requirements.
Among the biggest shortcomings is the fact that the project does not provide for public lighting, nor a protective fence along Kolovrat Street. In the letter, the locals pointed out that the recent rubble and waste dump was created precisely because of the lack of lighting and the complete openness of the location to the street.
An additional reason is the fact that the playground for the youngest children is located just a few meters from one of the city's busiest roads.
As explained by the local representative Goran Škatarić, there are also other shortcomings, such as the insufficient height of the fence next to the sports fields located right next to the Morača River and Vojislavljević Street, the significant elevation of the site level compared to the street level, which will lead to additional collection of atmospheric water, as well as marking a parking lot in a position that does not meet safety standards. "The project did not include solving the issue of two high optical infrastructure shafts, and no solution was given for the irrigation of green areas either."
"Locals expressed their understanding that not all deficiencies can be eliminated at once, so they proposed priority steps to the capital city, namely the installation of lighting and fences, as well as the start of project documentation for the construction of storm sewers in Kolovrat Street," said Škatarić.
The locals invited the chief city architect to visit the site together, in order to see for themselves all of the above.
"The expectations of the locals are that the city administration will approve these three requests in the coming days, in the spirit of fair relations so far. After all, we believe that the complete rounded whole of the site, especially in the area of security, is the goal that all parties in this story strive for".
