Romanian Ambassador Viorel Ardeleanu said during the meeting with the Minister of Health Jelena Borovinić Bojović that, through the Romanian government, that is, the Ministry of Health, he is ready to provide Montenegro with a donation of a certain number of vaccines against Covid-19.
Borovinić Bojović, Ardeleanu and Consul Radu Gorincioi, as announced by the Ministry of Health, assessed that Romania and Montenegro will further improve the traditionally good interstate relations in the coming period through more intensive cooperation and the provision of help and support, especially in crisis situations, such as the pandemic. caused by the coronavirus.
Ardeleanu presented how the healthcare system works in Romania and how it is organized during the pandemic caused by the coronavirus, emphasizing the importance of primary healthcare in prevention, treatment and patient care.
Borovinić Bojović thanked the Romanian ambassador and consul for the help offered and expressed satisfaction at the solidarity shown at a time when the whole world is facing a severe epidemic. She said that the priority of the Ministry of Health is to strengthen primary health care, i.e. health centers, in order to amortize the pressure on hospitals and especially on the Clinical Center of Montenegro, which is the only tertiary level health institution in Montenegro.
The head of the Office of the World Health Organization in Montenegro, Mina Brajović, also attended the meeting, who said that the WHO provides absolute support to the Ministry of Health in the implementation of activities aimed at strengthening the capacity of the health system, in order to respond as effectively as possible in the fight against the coronavirus. According to her, this first of all implies the strengthening of all segments, which also implies key basic services for the prevention and control of infection, as well as the overall fight against the virus.
The Romanian delegation was presented with a digital platform for managing data generated through clinical management, as a very important electronic service in the time of the pandemic, as well as a telemedicine project, which will be further improved in order to expand its application to all medical branches, they added. ministries.
At the meeting, it was assessed that the exchange of knowledge and experience between doctors and medical staff of the two countries is very important and that it will be made concrete in the coming period.
The meeting was also attended by State Secretary in the Ministry of Health Borko Bajić.
