ASK: Nikčević broke the law, he did not report the 1.200 euros he received from DPS

Nikčević told the ASK that he did not report the election bonuses "because when filling out the report, he was guided by the provisions of Article 24 of the Law, which stipulates the obligation to report cash in the amount of 5.000 euros, but also that a misinterpretation of the law does not justify him if he violated its provisions."

The Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK) determined that the President of the Nikšić Municipal Assembly, Radivoje Lala Nikčević, violated the Law on the Prevention of Corruption, because he did not declare the 1.200 euros he received from the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in the year of the 2016 parliamentary elections.

Nikčević is the 13th representative of Milo Đukanović's party for whom the ASK found a violation of the Law due to undeclared bonuses.

The law stipulates that public officials are obliged to provide accurate and complete information in the property records, otherwise they face a fine of 500 to 2.000 euros.

This is another of the cases that was initiated in mid-2017, and which was not resolved during the mandate of the director and acting director Sreten Radonjić and Savo Milašinović.

"Vijesti" announced in mid-2017 that the ruling party at the time paid more than 22.000 euros to the presidents of municipal committees for the election campaign, but it was not reported in their asset records.

That the funds were paid out was seen from the findings of the State Audit Institution on the financial report of DPS for 2016, while KAS did not answer at the time whether they dealt with these cases.

ASK Director Jelena Perović made the case of undeclared election bonuses a priority and, so far, has found violations of the law in 13 cases.

Decisions have been made so far in the case of the president of the Municipality of Danilovgrad Zorica Kovačević, former presidents of the municipalities of Tivat, Andrijevica, Šavnik and Ulcinj Siniša Kusovac, Srđan Mašović, Vlatko Vuković and Ljor Nrekić, MP Halid Duković, former MPs Filip Vuković and Jovan Martinović, as well as representatives the parties of Branka Nikezić, Spas Popović, Sulj Alivodić and Slobodan Radović.

Bulajić forgot his wife's actions

The agency also established that the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Strahinja Bulajić (DF) violated the Law because he did not declare in his file the 5.000 shares that his wife Žana Bulajić has in the Eurofund.

He said that if this is true, "it could be a simple oversight or error when entering data".

He added that his wife duly reported the actions in her record.

In his case, it was established that, like Nikčević, he submitted a card with incorrect and incomplete information.
