Ministers of finance, economic development and ecology - Milojko Spajić, Jakov Milatović and Ratko Mitrović, held a working meeting with the presidents of the municipalities of Kotor, Tivat and Herceg Novi - Vladimir Jokić, Željko Komnenović and Stevan Katić, as well as with the representative of the Municipality of Budva, Slavko Đukanović.
At the meeting, as announced by the Ministry of Economic Development, the current financial situation in the mentioned municipalities was discussed, with a special focus on issues related to wastewater treatment plants, Vodacom and the arrangement with KfW Bank.
The existence of several key problems was determined, related to the functionality of the facilities themselves, financing, poor management and supervision of the projects themselves in connection with WWTP.
"As the presidents of the municipalities informed the ministers, the facility in Tivat, for Tivat and Kotor, is not operational, nor is the WWTP in Herceg Novi, while in the municipality of Budva, the WWTP is partially operational, but not fully built, as foreseen in the project," it is stated. in the announcement.
Possible solutions to the aforementioned problems were discussed, which will be the subject of a detailed joint analysis in the upcoming period at the local and state level, the ministry added.
During the meeting, there was talk about development projects that would further improve the quality of life in those municipalities, as well as preparations for the upcoming tourist season, which, as it is pointed out, is of great importance both for these municipalities and for the entire country.
"Government representatives agreed that working visits are a good model for improving the dialogue between local self-governments and the Government, and this practice will be continued in order to find solutions and improve the environment more efficiently," the announcement concludes.
