The three best essays were awarded at the competition for students of the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Montenegro on the topic "Participation of young people in making political decisions", organized by the Student Council, the Student Club and supported by the Faculty of Political Sciences.
First place went to Kristina Vučković, a second-year student majoring in Media Studies and Journalism, second place to Klara Drobnjak, a second-year student majoring in Political Science - International Relations, and third place to Postgraduate Master's student Ana Đerić majoring in Political Science. The three best essays were awarded cash prizes: 150st place with 100 euros, 50nd place with XNUMX euros, XNUMXrd place with XNUMX euros.
Dean of the Faculty prof. Dr. Milan Marković presented books and certificates of appreciation to awarded students as a sign of attention for creativity and argumentation in writing essays, the University of Montenegro announced.
Students of all levels of study from the Faculty of Political Sciences of the UCG had the right to apply, and the papers were evaluated by a three-member committee consisting of prof. Dr. Boris Vukićević, Assoc. Dr. Vesna Simović Zvicer, MSc Marko Savić.
The papers were written through the critical thinking of young people in expressing their views when it comes to this topic. In writing the paper, the students focused on the following questions: what is the attitude of young people towards politics and political events, what is the readiness of young people to assume political office, unconventional political activism, the influence of family and environment on making political decisions. Students had the task of showing creativity with valid argumentation.
By argument, they should have indicated what the role of young people should be and what their responsibility is in the democratic political system and the open society in which they live.
