The afforestation actions of the Trebjesa forest park, organized by the non-governmental association (NGO) "Paths of ancestors" from Nikšić in partnership with the NGO "Medija team", are almost unimaginable without the youngest.
It was the same yesterday, when Trebjesa became richer for another 500 spruce seedlings planted as part of the "Let's reforest Trebjesa" project.
The director of NVU "Paths of the Ancestors", Ana Petrović Njegoš, did not hide her satisfaction that parents came with their children, aware that environmental education starts from the youngest days, and that the best way to learn is through practice.
"We are really pleased that this time, as during all previous actions, there were a lot of families with children who, through participation in the afforestation action, contributed to the education of the youngest members of our community about the protection and preservation of the Trebjesa forest park," said Ana Petrović. Caregiver.
Although the eight-month project "Let's reforest Trebjesa" ends next week, the aforementioned non-governmental association does not intend to "leave" Trebjesa so soon.
"We turned to the southern part of Trebjesa, where there is the most work, and where we plan to plant all spring. We will finish the project next Sunday, when we will have another afforestation campaign, distribution of information on the topic of forest fire protection and installation of information boards. But we don't end with Trebjes. We will immediately continue with the new project 'Plant a tree for a green, ecological Nikšić', said the director of the NVU "Paths of Ancestors".
Many organizations from the city responded to the action, such as BK "Perun", NGO "Center for Affirmation of RE-Population-CAREP", Agency for Local Democracy, Youth Club, Unified Club - Our School of Economics Nikšić, Protection and Rescue Service, Mladiinfo Montenegro , and the seedlings were donated by the Forestry Administration of Montenegro and the Vir nursery.
The project "Let's reforest Trebjesa" is financially supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, and its goal is to contribute to the National Forest Strategy of the Government of Montenegro, through afforestation and sustainable forest management.
