A ten-minute drive from the city, towards the border with Serbia, at an altitude of 1200 meters, there is the village of Rudnica, which has recently been a favorite picnic spot for Pljevljak.
Clean air and well-maintained footpaths make this village an extremely attractive place for recreation and rest.
A large number of citizens of Pljevlje, due to heavy pollution, are forced to look for clean air in this village on the border between Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This place is especially popular among the people of Pljevlja in winter, when the northernmost Montenegrin city is covered in thick fog for several days.
Recently, many of them have built cottages in this village, and not so long ago the first restaurant was opened, and there are also facilities for children eager to play.
Thanks to the rich vegetation and constant air currents in Rudnica, the air is clean, which is especially beneficial to the people of Pljevlja, because for most of the year the concentrations of pollutants in the city exceed the permitted limits.
This place has tourist potential, and the beautiful nature, conifer forest and wind roses give Pljevlja a chance to complete the tourist offer of the city.
Rudnica was also visited last winter, when numerous walkers and cyclists enjoyed the sun, the view of Ljubišnja, Durmitor and Kovač, as well as the fog-bound Pljevlja.
Additional promotion of this place is provided by the car race that is organized every year along the curves from Dajević Han to Rudnica. Great potential is also presented by hunting tourism, given that nearby is the mountain Čemerno, covered with a tall coniferous forest.
