We don't want tankers, give us water

Representatives of the local community of Crljenica sent a request to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management to help them solve the perennial water supply problem. They claim that the situation is particularly difficult in the villages of Crljenice, Adrovići and Vijenac in the municipality of Pljevlja, where a total of about 500 inhabitants live.

Only the residents of the villages of Otilovići and Crni Vrh do not have problems with water supply, and in other villages it has become more pronounced in the last ten years due to the construction of a large number of houses - cottages and commercial buildings.

"Every year, about 300 tanks of water from the city's water supply are taken to the Municipal Municipality of Crljenice, where the municipality of Pljevlja participates with 50 percent in co-financing per tank. The average payment per water tank is around 80 euros. For households that keep a large number of large and small livestock and that export up to 10 water tanks per year, this represents an extremely large expenditure", the residents of the Crljenica Municipality stated in their request to the Ministry of Agriculture.

They claim that on February 25 they already addressed the Ministry once, but that the head of the Directorate for Water Management told them that the law stipulates that the local self-government unit is obliged to organize and provide public water supply for all settlements with more than 200 inhabitants or whose average need for with water greater than 100 cubic meters.

They also point out that they have addressed the Municipality of Pljevlja several times, but have never received a concrete answer.

On November 25 last year, the Council of the Ministry of Health addressed the Secretariat for Housing and Communal Affairs, Roads and Water, as well as the Secretariat for Finance, with a request to plan financial resources in the budget for 2021, for the delivery of free cisterns for those villages, considering that these are the most waterless villages in the Municipality.

In the notification of the Secretariat for housing and communal affairs, roads and water, signed by the secretary Zoran Colovic, it is stated, among other things, that at this moment the local administration could not meet their request.
