The government took over the concession on the part of the road from Herceg Novi to Trebinje, it was announced after the government session.

As the border between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina is added, it will be easier to cross.

"It will be beneficial for businessmen and for the upcoming tourist season," said Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić.

Citizens of Herceg Novi, Trebinje and other cities pay tolls for the Meljine-Petijevići road.

That road was opened in 2009 and is the first concession on a road in Montenegro, according to the BOT system (take, build, use and return).

The contract was signed for 20 years, and when it expires, "Universal Monte" should return the road to the Municipality.
