The tenants of the building of the former Railway Transport Company (ŽTP), in Novaka Ramova Street in Nikšić, fear that the roof canopy will collapse and that someone will be injured.
They claim that they have approached the local administration, but that nothing has been done and that they are not able to do it themselves.
The building was built more than half a century ago and has nine apartments on two floors.
The facade is in extremely bad condition, and the roof leaks are an additional problem for the tenants.
A few days ago, due to strong wind, a part of the facade fell from the building in Peka Pavlovića Street and damaged a car that was parked next to the building.
"We are afraid that the same thing will happen here, and we are even more afraid that someone will get hurt." That is why it is necessary to repair the roof as soon as possible", said one of the tenants.
According to the law, the buildings are owned by the tenants' assembly, which is obliged to take care of their maintenance.
Considering that the tenants, as they claim, are not financially able to repair the roof, and the local administration is not obliged to do so, the citizens have no choice but to go around the building in a wide arc, and the tenants to hope that the eaves will not collapse.
