Civic and peace activist Aida Petrović from the NGO Montenegrin Women's Lobby sent a public letter of support to teacher Sanja Vujović.
As Petrović states in the letter, "I don't know you personally, but that does not diminish my need to publicly support you and thank you for your courage, human and teaching, that in times of intimidation, threats, persecution and attempts to fascisize Montenegrin society, you follow anti-fascist values and in you educate young people in that spirit".
Petrović said that she believes that Vujović's support is provided by the collective of the elementary school "Lovćenski partisanski odred" in Cetinje, where Vujović teaches, because, as she says, "it wouldn't work otherwise.
"The whole of anti-fascist, dignified, Montenegro that inherits civilizational values, which anti-fascism certainly is, is without a doubt with you, teacher Vujovic," Petrović points out.
"The fact that Minister Bratic is "waving" at you and threatening you with punishments is not surprising, because it is another in a series of her spoken or written proofs of her retrograde and backwards understanding of the concept of civilizational values of anti-fascism and its achievements. In the absence of arguments that would actually and legally discredited minister Bratić resorts to low and miserable methods from the position of minister of education, science, culture and sports, which she implements, in order not to intimidate you and reeducate you according to her criteria," Petrović claims.
As she said, Vujović should be honored that Bratić sees her as "sinful in the promotion of anti-fascism" and uses her for "torture against dissenters, abusing the position of minister".
"And that is precisely what is worrying that the minister sees a reason for punishment in your promotion of anti-fascism, and does not consider it inappropriate and discriminatory to divide children on the basis of declaring which language they speak and thus contribute to the deepening of divisions," Petrović pointed out.
However, as she claims, everyone shows themselves in the best light according to what they are, understand and promote.
"You, teacher Vujović, held a historical lesson as a declared anti-fascist, not only for children, but also for the Minister of Education, whose statement "Chetnik woman" continues to warn, remind and tell her story, which will not find a foundation in Montenegro. Death to fascism, teacher Vujović," she concluded. is Petrović.
