The resident of Zelenika, Dragan Vukčević, claims that the capital did not tell the truth when they stated yesterday that they abandoned the construction of the training ground in that part of Podgorica, because "aggressive activists of the Movement for Change (Democratic Front) prevented the realization of the investment."
"First of all, I am an indigenous person, I have my property near the training ground, which is being built. I did not introduce myself as a Movement for Change activist at all. I asked the authorities from 'Roads' to submit the project and the study according to which the training ground is being built. They don't have it. They cannot guarantee the safety of children who would play on that training ground", said Vukčević.
He pointed out that he is not against the development of the city, the projects, and that he will help with the youth to build that training ground, once they provide the documentation, but also that there is already a playground there.
"I didn't insult anyone, neither the policemen, nor the workers of 'Roads', nor the communal policemen," said Vukčević.
The Capital City announced yesterday that "they are informing the residents of Zelenika and the surrounding settlements that the services and companies of the Capital City are giving up on further work on the construction of the training ground in this part of Podgorica."
"Namely, defying not only the laws of Montenegro but also common sense, the aggressive activists of the Movement for Change (Democratic Front) yesterday and today prevented the realization of the investment that the Capital entered into at the request of the local community, with the aim of building a modern training ground for football (for which, in cooperation with the Football Association of Montenegro, was previously provided with a special surface made of artificial grass) and, in the future, a children's playground. On that occasion, the mentioned persons issued threats to members of the Police Administration (who, in accordance with the law, provided assistance to members of the Municipal Police)".
Vukčević said that his family's property in Zelenica was expropriated earlier in order to build a kindergarten and a school, but that these facilities were not built, but the capital sold the land to a private individual.
Marija Marović, the councilor of the Movement for Change, claims that the event in Zelenica has absolutely nothing to do with politics, and that Vukčević reacted as a local and native.
"He is recognized as a PzP youth activist and we will not distance ourselves from him in that way. The capital wants to present it as a political issue, but it really isn't. That was the action of him and his family members," Marović pointed out.
