Montenegro and Switzerland share a European system of values, and their relations are meaningful and suitable for improvement through cooperation in various fields, especially in the economy and tourism, assessed the mayor of the Capital of Cetinje, Aleksandar Kašćelan, and the Swiss ambassador, Urs Šmid.
Kašćelan, as reported from Prijestonica, presented Šmid with the development possibilities of Cetinje and introduced him to the city's rich history.
"They specifically discussed the possibilities for Swiss investors to invest in Cetinje in the sectors of tourism, hospitality, creative industries, but also other areas such as agriculture and meat processing," the announcement states.
Kašćelan informed Šmid about the intention of the city authorities to build a hotel based on the famous Lokanda, and that this business venture could be realized through a private-public partnership and with investors from Switzerland.
Šmid congratulated Kašćelan and the citizens of Cetinje on the Independence Day, adding that he is glad that the local government is interested in improving interstate cooperation in all areas.
He reminded that Swiss investors are already present in Montenegro, citing as an example the Luštica Bay and Mamula resorts, which are being developed by Orascom.
