After the problem of the citizens of Blocks V and VI, who initiated not to build a dog park instead of the existing playground for children, the representatives of the Capital City invited them to a meeting on May 25.
On that occasion, it was decided to leave the playground, located at the corner of Mihaila Lalića Boulevard and Meša Selimovića Street, to the children, and to move the planned dog park to another location.
In the following, we transmit the citizen's statement in its entirety:
"Submitters of the civil initiative to review the decision of the Capital City to build a dog park in block 6, managers of the buildings in Đoka Mirasevica Street No. 1-13 and Mihaila Lalic Boulevard No. 4-18 after a meeting with Mayor Ivan Vuković, Deputy Dr. Sladjana Vujačić, director of "Zelenila" Daca Popović and director of the Center for Information Technologies Džemal Lekić withdrew the initiative in question.
At the invitation of the Mayor, on Tuesday, May 25.05.2021, XNUMX. a constructive meeting was held in which it was decided to keep the existing children's park.
The mayor, stating that he appreciates civic initiatives like this one and respecting his fellow citizens, despite the opinion that the dog park was a quality addition to this location, along with the relocation of the children's playground on the block green area between the buildings, which was detailed and argued, together with his colleagues presented to the administrators, nevertheless respected the needs of the residents of this part of the city that the existing playground remain at the location in question.
In the spirit of mutual respect and understanding, both parties openly exchanged arguments, and the initiators of the initiative thank the Mayor and his associates for their time, reception and openness to find the best solution in the interest of the citizens of the initiator of the initiative, while also respecting the infrastructure development plans of the Capital City.
