Ulcinj: They are asking for nine back wages, the cash register is empty - new debts are coming

Employees of the Ulcinj Cultural Center will go on a half-hour warning strike today at 10 a.m. due to nine unpaid wages, the union organization of that institution announced.

The strike, which will be held in the premises of the Cultural Center, aims to draw the attention of the municipal leaders to the problems of the employees of that PE, who, on the other hand, have been suffering for months with drafts in the city treasury, blocked accounts and the arrival of new debts for collection. .

The Center for Culture previously appealed to the local authorities to listen to the demands of the workers and pay the arrears of wages, since the employees of the Municipality are paid one and a half to two months late. At a recent press conference of the directors of five PEs, founded by the Municipality, it was disclosed that the workers of these companies are owed between ten and twenty five percent of their monthly salary.

The directors then ultimately demanded from the local government equalization in earnings with all other budget users by the end of the year, simultaneous payment of monthly incomes, assumption of tax debt from 2015 and release from the obligation to pay for services to the Utility Company.

This will be difficult to achieve because the city coffers are empty, and the first installment of 900 euros for a loan of 20 million from the German development bank KfW recently came due, which is why the President of the Municipality, Aleksandar Dabović, turned to the Government for help.

The loan, which was approved in 2016 for the purposes of water supply and waste water removal with a government guarantee, with a grace period of five years, is under the scrutiny of the criminal police inspector, and the entire case will be dealt with by the survey committee, which should be formed at the session of the SO that begins on Wednesday June 2.
