Work should be suspended as a matter of urgency until the annex to the contract that would enable the use of water for winter snowmaking if the hydrological study shows that there are no other waters for that purpose except for the water in the Bjelojevićka river basin, said member of the Board of Directors of the Ski Resort of Montenegro and member of URE Ivan Ašanin.
He believes that it is incomprehensible that this is the way to approach projects that are part of spatial planning documentation and that the modern winter ski center in Bjelasica, which will use Kolašina, Mojkovac, Bijela Polje and Berane, implies an investment worth several hundred million euros, and that grants the source of this river for a concession, if the assumption is that these waters are in the basin that should be used for winter snowmaking and the creation of an accumulation lake for the ski center in Bjelasica.
Ašanin pointed out that we must not jeopardize the general interest because of someone's personal interests.
"We warned about the motives for building a road along this route, seeing that it was about the personal interest of individuals, but at that time we had no mechanisms to prevent it. That is why I hope that now we have the possibility to at least repair and stop more damage, which is why we are addressing the relevant minister Mladen Bojanić, let's find a solution together," he said.
Looking at the entire issue of the subject project in Bjelasica, he states, he has the opportunity to get a better overview of the situation than before.
"I am also asking the authorities from the Municipality of Mojkovac to get involved and react. Although there is probably a delay in reacting, a solution must and can be found by annexing the contract on the use of that water. After all, the water used for snowmaking, when it melts, must go will drain into the Bjelojevićka river sooner or later. A similar thing happened in Kolašin, to collect water from the ski resort in the mini HPP, and to leave the winter centers without the possibility of modernizing the offers," his announcement states.
He reminded that every year, regardless of the weather and precipitation, the winter season can open, which would also mean safer and more attractive investments for investors, which, under such conditions, he believes, would be more and more.
"They have to look at and make new studies, the state has to make corrections, and even cancel and pay for investment failures by issuing concessions for mini HPPs. This is better than calling into question investments worth hundreds of millions of euros. It is obvious that each, much more complicated , the project has its loop, intentionally made or through ignorance, and let the authorities deal with it," Ašanin said.
They called on the Ministry of Capital Investments to take appropriate actions and measures as soon as possible to prohibit the execution of works on the mini-hydroelectric power plant on the Bjelojevićka River in Mojkovac or to find a solution to the revision of the Concession Agreement in a way that will enable the use of water for snowmaking at the ski center in Bjelasica. .
