The Metropolitanate of Montenegrin-Primorska and the Eparchy of Budamiljansko-Nikšić of the Serbian Orthodox Church have registered in Montenegro, announced the MCA.
Namely, after the entry into force of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Freedom of Religion or Belief and the Legal Position of Religious Communities and the Rulebook on the Content and Method of Keeping the Unified Record of Religious Communities, they submitted to the Ministry of Justice, Human and Minority Rights proper applications with evidence for registration in the book of registered religious communities, Unique records of religious communities.
"The Ministry of Justice, Human and Minority Rights, in accordance with its legal powers, has issued adequate certificates of registration in the Public Registry to the Metropolis and the Diocese. In particular, we point out that with this act, the Metropolis and the Eparchy have actively confirmed the position that has been announced several times, especially during the litany for the defense of the Holy Places, that they will submit applications for entry into the records to the competent authority at the moment when unconstitutional and discriminatory legal provisions are removed from the legal system. their previously acquired legal subjectivity in the legal order of Montenegro was annulled", it was announced from the MCA.
As they pointed out, this act clearly confirmed the determination of the Metropolis and the Eparchy to, in a manner that befits and befits the Church, comply with legal provisions that are in accordance with civilizational achievements and international standards on freedom of religion in the individual and collective aspect.
"With the aforementioned legal and by-law provisions, as well as the actions of the Ministry of Justice, Human and Minority Rights, the legal subjectivity of the Metropolis and Eparchy in Montenegro, previously acquired and confirmed countless times over the centuries, is fully recognized and respected," the announcement states.
