The Nikšić Municipal Committee of the Democratic Party of Socialists condemned the desecration of the monument to Ljubo Čupić and demanded an adequate punishment for the perpetrator. They assessed that this person embarrassed all of Nikšić and Montenegro yesterday.
"We strongly condemn the shameful desecration of the monument to Ljub Čupić, and we demand that the competent authorities bring to justice as soon as possible and adequately punish the person who yesterday shamed all of Nikšić and Montenegro. Urinating on the monument of the hero, which is a symbol of the fight against fascism and resistance, is only the last act in a series of attempts to reduce the libertarian and defiant Nikšić, the city of culture and bohemianism, to a provincial Chetnik village and a symbol of primitivism," announced OO DPS Nikšić.

In the announcement, they add that they recently witnessed "how the president of the municipality and his camarilla sing songs in honor of the murderer Ljub Čupić, Chetnik and traitor".
"That is why it is clear that the current government, which inherits the values of a defeated ideology, is the true inspirer of this disgraceful act that happened last night in our city. Marko Kovacević, as the first novice of this city, is equally responsible, as well as those from the URA and the Democrats, who raised their hands for Nikšić to get this kind of power. They all condemned Nikšić to the same extent, as well as this primitive unfortunate from the video that horrified Montenegro and the region," they conclude in the announcement.
