The President of the Nikšić Municipal Assembly, Nemanja Vuković, condemned the desecration of the monument to the symbol of anti-fascist resistance, Ljubo Čupić.
Vuković said that he expects the perpetrator to be prosecuted as soon as possible and punished according to the law.
"I am convinced that this absolutely unacceptable action represents an isolated act of an individual, created as a result of hatred and division generated by the former government. I call on all citizens to preserve our historical heritage and to treat cultural monuments in a decent and civilized way. Nikšić is a city that respects the figure and work of Ljubo Čupić, who nurtures the spirit of anti-fascism and who treats the NOB victims with the deepest reverence," said Vuković.
