The Council of the Faculty of Sports does not want Hadžić as acting dean

The Council of the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education in Nikšić sent a letter to the Management Board of the University of Montenegro and the Acting Rector, Vladimir Božović, in which they "express their disagreement" with the decision that the Acting Dean should be Professor Rašid Hadžić.

At a recent meeting, the UCG Board rejected the proposal of the Council of that faculty that the new dean be professor Duško Bjelica. At the same session, the Board of Directors also decided that, from June 27, when the current head of the Faculty of Sports, Steve Popović, will end his term, the function of dean will be performed by Professor Hadžić.

"We hereby express our disagreement with your decision to impose the acting dean at our Faculty against the will of the Council of the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education of the University of Montenegro without any reason or reason. We especially emphasize that Prof. Dr. Rašid Hadzić is completely unacceptable for us to perform that function for several reasons that are known to everyone at this university unit, and of course to you as well," reads the letter sent to "Vijesta" from the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education.

The members of the Council, 14 of them, believe that the institution "should not be disciplined under any circumstances and undemocratically imposed on it by a person who will be the acting dean because everything at this Faculty functions flawlessly and in the best order and in accordance with all valid regulations".

"If you have already made the decision that the proposed candidate who was unanimously elected in a public competition and who reflected the will of almost one hundred percent of all employees, then in our opinion it was a basic academic order to share your thoughts with the current management of the Faculty and appoint an acceptable person as acting dean both parties from the list of employees. Almost all colleagues in the academic position who are in the academic position, to a significant extent exceeded the scientific references of your candidate and did not participate in any dubious affairs that could possibly be the subject of future disagreements", they say from Council.

They also point out that they are "firmly convinced that this is an undemocratic imposition by sheer force of a candidate that is completely unacceptable".

"To act revanchistically and that this can be interpreted as pressure on dissenters and suppression of the basic academic and democratic rights to opinion and the right to choose in accordance with current regulations. However, all employees at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education will continue to perform all their tasks in accordance with the applicable regulations and in accordance with the decisions of the competent authorities of the UCG, but also to protect themselves from all forms of non-academic pressures and disciplining of the free will of the employees of this university unit", the letter to the Board of Directors and Božović stated that the members also agreed with this position of the teaching council and employees of the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education.
