The Presidents of the Municipality and the Municipal Assembly (SO) of Nikšić, Marko Kovačević and Nemanja Vuković, held a reception for graduates and semi-graduates, winners of the "Luča" diploma.
Out of 161 high school graduates, winners of the "Luča" diploma, 58 of them achieved excellent success in all subjects, while 136 semi-graduates received the "Luča".
"When you bring something to an end and finish it the way you finished your previous education, then every beginning is much easier", said the President of the Municipality, who reminded of the verses of Mike Antic "There are three hundred ways to leave childhood, and only a few remember to remain a child forever".
"You are now taking a new path that takes you away from your childhood, and we want this 'Light' to shine on you on that path, which also shined on Nikšić, and on your schools, classes and your families, and to illuminate that path to the greatest possible success you can achieve achieve in your lives and careers. I also ask you to always remain children who knew how to dream and that those dreams be your incentive for this success that you have achieved, but also for all those successes that you have yet to achieve, which we they should be something to be proud of, like the one you achieved today," Kovačević said.
Vuković congratulated the winners of the "Luča" diploma on the outstanding results they achieved during their education, as well as their teachers and parents who played a major role in achieving their success.
"The process of education is like life - full of ups and downs. And only one thing is important - never give up. Don't give up, because there are almost 30 percent of you young people. Not only in Montenegro, but all over the world. In 50 or 60 years, you, along with the generations to come, will make up almost 100 percent of the population. I'm sure you know what a responsibility that is. The responsibility to shape your own destiny, the destiny of your city and the destiny of your country, regardless of the circumstances. To keep the peace , and to nurture harmony and togetherness. To divide people only into good and bad," said Vuković.
He recalled the saying of the famous English philosopher, Francis Bacon, who said that knowledge is power.
"Therefore, study, work on yourself and protect the freedom you have. Be your own people and think for yourself. That is the way to build a better society and overall progress. I am sure that you will succeed in that," said the president of the SO.
Aleksandar Krivokapić, now a former student of the "Stojan Cerović" Gymnasium, spoke in front of the winners of the "Luča" diploma.
He thanked the professors for their selfless help and added that each lesson was like a symbol, an open door, a sign on the side of the road and a motive that is strong enough to permeate them deeply and move them towards true values, great expectations, aspirations and challenges that the new day brings. ..
"The school provided us with a quality education, an endless driving force, a wind at our backs. This is where we got to know ourselves, our being, our life," said Aleksandar.
He added that they had freedom and democracy, the right to have their voice heard and to participate in decision-making.
"At school, we filled our hearts with endless joy, but also with endless sadness, because on our way we said goodbye to four friends. Danilo, Nikola, Dejan and Matija remained our wound and pain. Their loss deeply penetrated us and shattered us small and weak under the great pillar of fate. Nevertheless, they live and will live through us, through the whole generation, because they are present in our hearts at every moment. We love them endlessly and every success we have is also theirs," Aleksandar said.
As he pointed out, despite the challenges brought by the Covid 19 pandemic, and despite the alternative, less dynamic ways of working, everyone was there, because they knew they were "defending the reputation of the school". As he pointed out, they leave school as mature, educated people who apply their knowledge in correlation with intellectual abilities, and the 21st century requires just such people.
"I hope that by applying the acquired knowledge, we will make our parents, professors, school administration and other authorities proud. I hope that we will realize our dream and use our knowledge to serve our country and our city," Aleksandar said.
Anđela Mušikić, a former student of "Ratko Žarić" Elementary School, expressed her thanks on behalf of the graduates.
"I am very proud to represent this wonderful generation from Nikšić schools that has completed one of the most beautiful periods of life - nine years of schooling," said Anđela and thanked all the subject teachers.
"I am grateful for everything - so much patience, advice, lessons that we will remember for the rest of our lives. I understood what it is to be human. This period of my life was the happiest. In addition to getting an education, there are also my dear friends for life and teachers who were always willing to give us help when I needed it, advice, a kind word," said Anđela and added that everyone gave them a boost, especially parents, teachers and seniors.
"And now a new stage of life is waiting for us - high school. I hope that we will continue to walk as we have until now...I hope that some new and happier times are ahead of us in which society will invest more in education because education will give back to society for the good of everyone. Happy are the societies and communities that invest the most in the education system. Let's go on to new victories throughout life," said Anđela.
