KCCG: Stomach and colon imaging from July 1

The Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) invited patients who need to have their stomach and colon scanned to contact their chosen doctors from July 1, as appointments for that month will be open from then on.

The head nurse of KCCG Ivana Popović said that they decided on this move because patients, although they confirm their arrival three days before, end up not showing up for the recording.

"During yesterday, out of the seven scheduled colonoscopies, we did only two because the five patients who confirmed that they would come, ended up not showing up," said Popović.

She said that according to data from the outpatient clinic, every other patient does not come to the scheduled appointment.

"In this way, we try to reach patients who are sitting at home and whom we cannot reach because of those who usurp their appointments," explained Popović.

She said that she hopes that this way will reduce complaints related to the fact that these recordings are allegedly not available for months.

Popović said that at the Polyclinic, within the Gastroenterological Outpatient Clinic, colonoscopy and gastroscopy are performed in two shifts, from 14:15 a.m. to 20:XNUMX p.m. and from XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.

"We can perform an average of 20 gastroscopies and another ten colonoscopies per day," said Popović.

She noted that, however, because scheduled patients do not come, doctors waste time because they certainly have to be at work, and other patients are forced to wait.

"It is not possible to do these recordings immediately, given the preparation process that precedes them and the PCR testing for the coronavirus," explained Popović.

As she said, examinations are scheduled only through selected doctors, and cancellations can be reported either to their selected doctor or by calling the number 020 412 495.

"At the same time, we ask patients to update their phone numbers with their chosen doctors, because it often happens that wrong or non-existent contact numbers are listed in the medical records," concluded Popović.
