The Human Resources Department, with the support of the United Kingdom Government Communications Service, organized a two-day workshop for trainers who will implement the Education Program for acquiring key public communication skills in the public sector. The lecturers at the workshop were communications experts from the United Kingdom Government, Asana Greenstreet and Amena Al Nakib, and Radoje Cerović, an expert in the field of communications.

"The government needs communication professionals to develop long-term public communication campaigns, as well as spokespersons who have direct contact with the public and the media, regardless of whether they are covering the communication topic of the day or solving a communication crisis situation. Your role as a trainer will be to strengthen the abilities of every government official in charge of the media", said, opening the workshop, Great Britain's ambassador to Montenegro, Karen Maddox.

As she pointed out, government officials in charge of the media will have to develop clear messages for the Government that will help citizens understand its work.

"They will also strengthen Montenegro's reputation internationally, ensuring that Montenegro is recognized as a safe and interesting place to visit and start a new business." Good government communications are a factor that contribute to social and economic stability," said Maddox.

Jovana Nišavić, acting director of the Human Resources Administration, said that the future trainers of the program, whose implementation should begin in the fall, are experts from the state administration, the private sector, the academic community, and the media.

"All of them went through a very complex selection process and I am sure that they will respond to the challenge and present the program in the best possible way. It was accredited with the aim of synchronizing communication activities at the Government level and providing a set of knowledge and skills that will improve both communication with the public and internal communication within the public administration," Nišavić said.

According to her, their wish is that one day the certificate of acquired key skills will be a requirement for performing the work of PR manager and public relations consultant.

"The participants of the training, which will be conducted by selected lecturers, in the first round PRs, and later all those who communicate with the public, after completing the program and passing the exam, acquire the key skill of communicating with the public in the public sector," Nišavić said.
