The abolition of roaming is of great importance for the citizens of the Western Balkans and represents a great incentive for business, tourism and turns us towards development, mobility and infrastructure, said Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović.
"We must do everything to bring our countries together even more." The borders of the countries of the Western Balkans will not change, but they must be invisible," said Abazović at the opening of the conference "Towards Free Roaming in the Western Balkans" organized by the Council for Regional Cooperation (RCC).
Abazović pointed out, as announced by the Government, that it was a great honor and pleasure for him that Montenegro was given the opportunity to host the event that will make official the final abolition of roaming between citizens of the Western Balkan countries from July 1.
Addressing the gathered ministers from the region, in charge of digital transformation and information technology and RCC general secretary Majlinda Brega, Abazović stated that today's event is proof that the countries of the Western Balkans have overcome the "period of balkanization" and that "a new period of Europeanization of this region" has begun ".
"Montenegro is the ideal place to put a seal on the abolition of roaming, as a country that demonstrates a peaceful and good-neighborly policy that is open to everyone and that lends a hand to our neighbors," emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister.
Abazović expressed the hope that the projects affirmed by the RCC are supported by all the governments of the region, because it represents a good impulse for what should be the ultimate goal, which is membership in the EU of the countries of the Western Balkans.
