The non-governmental association Educational Union of Montenegro (PZCG) called on the Government to, through further reform of the education system, instead of partitocracy, build a society of knowledge and thereby end the bad "tradition" that, as they said, had been hindering the social development of Montenegro for years.
They said that they believe that Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić, as a scientist and university professor, shares their vision, for which, as they say, they advocated even before August 30, and for which they will continue to advocate in the future, regardless of who they are. political actors in power. "We believe that this is the only way we work in the best interest of educators, the education system, all students, parents, and the development of our Montenegro."
"Unfortunately, we are witnessing a general lack of civic activism in Montenegro. We believe that this is the reason for the inertia of educators, but also of the civil sector, whose representatives used to be much more active in the fight for a better education system. We are also aware that the poor socio-economic status of our colleagues is another reason for inertia - they are also parents and citizens who fight for existence every day," PZCG announced.
For this reason, as they state, they believe that, as the Educational Community, they have, above all, the responsibility to be vocal critics of all those who try to continue with the implementation of a system in which the party booklet is the most important, instead of a reform that will value expertise and lead to better education for every child.
"We invite the representatives of Montenegro, among whom there are scientists, university professors, but also our fellow educators, to support what they professionally consider to be the best for improving the quality of education. Regardless of their political affiliation, we remind them that they are citizens voted with faith that it will bring them changes for the better. We have seen that the quality of education does not improve through elections based on party affiliation. That is why we call for a new solution to be tried - elections based on expertise, on clear professional criteria, as well as on the participation of educators , but also parents and students in that process," the announcement concludes.
