In addition to the issue of how to elect directors of schools and kindergartens in Montenegro, the Government and Parliament should also address the issue of organizing the new school year, which should begin in a month, about which teachers, students and parents have absolutely no information.
This was announced by the non-governmental association Educational Community of Montenegro, and as they say, this issue significantly affects the life of more than half of the population.
"The way in which the new school year will be organized will affect the quality of education of new generations, but also the quality of life of hundreds of thousands of families in Montenegro. Therefore, we consider it unacceptable that not only nothing is known about this issue in the public, but also that this is not discussed at all with representatives of teachers, students and parents. There is no information, let alone dialogue and participation of different sectors of society in deciding on an issue that will fundamentally change the lives of hundreds of thousands of citizens in a month's time," their announcement states.
This scenario, they add, has already been experienced by the previous government last summer, and as a result "we had a significant decline not only in the quality of education, but also in the quality of life of children and young and adult citizens of Montenegro."
"The educational community of Montenegro calls on the Government and the Assembly to assume the role that belongs to them according to the Constitution and the laws of our country and to not only inform us, but also to listen and include us in a public and professional debate about the best ways to organize the new school year. We are sure that they will through an inclusive public debate and professional consultations with teachers, students and parents, we can come to better solutions than we have had so far," this non-governmental association points out.
