The Days of Diaspora - Emigrants event in Bijelo Polje started today with a play for children "Knight in Love from Morača" and an animation program of the Association of Montenegrins of Southeast Serbia from Aleksinac.
This sung, playful and interactive performance was based on the text of the writer for young people, Velimir Ralević from Beran. The Director of the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora-Expatriates, Seid Hadžić, said at the opening of the event that they want to strengthen the relationship with children born in the diaspora with such activities, saying that Montenegro is their homeland, as much as everyone else's.
"It is a special honor, pleasure and joy for me to open Diaspora Days with this program. I want us to strengthen the connection that those born in the diaspora have with these and similar activities, and that what we do today, they will continue tomorrow. I am amazed by the love of children born in the diaspora for this homeland. That is why it is our task to endear this common homeland to them and to bring Montenegro closer to their place of residence with such events," said Hadžić.
On behalf of the Municipality of BIjelo Polje, the President of the Municipal Assembly, Nemša Omerhodžić, welcomed us, who reminded us of the importance of gathering the diaspora.
"On behalf of the host city and adopt a personal name, I want all of you who are guests in our city to feel comfortable and to enjoy together during the manifestation, which is a kind of festival that promotes all the riches of our Montenegro," said Omerhodžić.
The president of the Association of Montenegrins of Southeast Serbia from Aleksinac, Miloš Paović, said that they always look forward to every performance, but today's performance is especially important, because it has a specific significance.
"The Directorate for the Diaspora is the producer of this play and they invited us to open the Days of the Diaspora with it, which we are very proud of. We already played it in Berane two years ago, and we are also glad that the children from Bijeli Polje and the surrounding area accepted it brilliantly," said Paović.
Paović reminded that the association, based in Niš, continuously works to promote the culture of Cren Gora and present the creativity of Montenegrins living in Serbia.
The event "Days of Diaspora-Emigrants" is organized by the Administration for Cooperation with Diaspora-Emigrants, in cooperation with the Municipality of Bijelo Polje.
Tonight, as part of the program, a poetry evening and an exhibition of paintings by artists from Montenegro and the diaspora will be held in the House of Rist Ratković.
