The enthronement ceremony of Metropolitan Joaniki of Montenegrin and Littoral, in the presence of the Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) Porfiri, will be held on September 4 in Cetinje, confirmed Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) from the SPC.
"Vijesti" was told by the Metropolis of Montenegro and the Littoral (MCP) that the exact dates are still being determined and that September 4 is still not an official date, but that it is a general date.
Joanikije was elected as the Metropolitan of Montenegrin and Littoral at the Holy Bishops' Assembly of the Serbian Orthodox Church this spring in the Church of Saint Sava in Belgrade.
According to reports, Ioanikija will be ushered into the throne of the Cetinje metropolitans by the Serbian patriarch Porfirije.
Bishop Joanikije will replace the deceased Metropolitan Amfilohi on the post of Metropolitan of Montenegrin and Littoral.
