Despite the numerous challenges we are facing, we believe that citizens will be responsible and conscientious and will refrain from any actions that pose a risk for the outbreak of new fires in Podgorica, and members of the Protection and Rescue Service will, as before, monitor the situation on a daily basis field, it was announced today from the Protection and Rescue Service of the Capital City.
They said that they are continuously improving the infrastructure and conditions for the work of firefighters.
"The days behind us more than ever justified all the investments and showed that the fight against the fire element requires constant investments in the work of this service. In accordance with the tender procedure carried out, the Podgorica firefighters were delivered an accompanying vehicle - a water tanker. It is a dedicated vehicle with a tank with a volume of 7.500 liters, a centrifugal pump and a winch. In addition to the purpose of the tank for transporting water to waterless areas of Podgorica, the mentioned vehicle will be of great importance as an accompanying vehicle for extinguishing fires," the announcement states.
The Protection and Rescue Service of the Capital City said that during the last year and at the beginning of this year, they acquired a truck for extinguishing forest fires and repaired three trucks, one of the naval type and two that can also be used for forest fires.
"We have continuously invested in the necessary equipment for firefighters and the improvement of all work segments, which makes the service one of the most equipped in the region," the statement concludes.
