Several households in the Mareza settlement have been without water for over 30 hours

More than twenty households are still without water in the Mareza settlement, that is, for over 30 hours.

This was confirmed to "Vijesti" by the locals, and this morning the journalist team found several "Vodovod" crews, who are trying to fix the malfunction with the help of machinery.

The pipe in that neighborhood of Podgorica burst yesterday in the early hours after midnight.

One of the locals stated that an explosion was literally heard when the malfunction occurred, and they do not know what caused it.

"We don't know what happened, but it burst really hard. As it was night, it really resonated. After that, the water started pouring down the street, and one of the neighbors called the authorities in the 'Waterworks' to come and fix the problem. We were told is that it will take more time to repair the fault, because it is on the main water pipe," said one local resident.

As the locals pointed out, given the high heat in Podgorica these days, the lack of water has hit many people in the settlement hard.

"Vodovod i kanalizija" from Podgorica told "Vijesta" yesterday that during the early hours of the morning there was a failure of a pipeline with a diameter of 300 millimeters, which led to the cessation of water supply to part of the settlements of Mareza and Tološi.

As they stated, the available teams of "Waterworks and Sewerage" went to the field yesterday and made an effort to remove it as soon as possible.

"We expect that the water supply will be established by the end of the day. We thank the citizens for their patience and understanding," replied the company headed by Filip Makrid.

However, they did not explain how the failure occurred.

Director of "Water and Sewerage" Filip Makrid told the Morning Program of Television of Montenegro that three households are still without water in Mareza, but he hopes that the fault will be fully repaired and that they will also receive water during the day. "The fault occurred in a private property in a rather inaccessible place under the retaining wall of the property. The crews were engaged in fixing the fault. There were many problems because the public lighting poles were also in the immediate vicinity of the fault, so we had to remove the electricity poles as well parts of the retaining wall," Makrid said.
