35mm: The authority to urgently deal with the amendment of the Criminal Code in the part that concerns endangering the safety of journalists

The non-governmental organization (NGO) "35mm" announced today that it strongly condemns the attack on the director of the Center for Investigative Journalism, Milka Tadić-Mijović.

They added that they call on the competent authorities to adequately prosecute the attacker and thus show that attacks on media freedom in Montenegro are not tolerated.

They said that in the future, together with their colleagues from the non-governmental sector who deal with the media, they will actively advocate for the introduction of new criminal offenses: preventing a journalist from performing professional tasks and assaulting a journalist while performing professional tasks, and supplementing the criminal offenses of grievous bodily harm and grievous bodily harm murder in relation to journalists as victims.
