Martinović: I condemn all attempts to prevent journalists from doing their job

Deputy and Vice-President of Democratic Montenegro Vladimir Martinović condemned the attempt to prevent the Vijesti Television crew from reporting during the Cetinje protest.

"Full support to the brave journalist of Television Vijesti Ljubica Milićević and her associate who showed, above all, a cultured and dignified attitude. I condemn all attempts to prevent journalists from doing their job," Martinović wrote on Twitter.

He said that journalists must be provided with an environment for unhindered reporting, regardless of the circumstances in which they report.

During the protest in Cetinje, the Vijesti Television crew experienced an inconvenience when a group of young men obstructed the inclusion of Vijesti at 12 o'clock.

They insulted the journalist and the cameraman and told them that they could not report from the protest, and some even touched the camera.

The editorial board and management of Television Vijesti condemned the mistreatment of the team in Cetinje and called on the authorities to finally do something to really protect them, instead of press releases and Twitter posts condemning attacks on journalists.

The Police Directorate told Vijesti that they identified one of the group of men who today disturbed the TV Vijesti team and insulted them, not allowing them to work.
