The government will carry out all the necessary activities in order to put the sports hall in Kolašin and the Youth Center, which are located in the Lug location, in the immediate vicinity of the future sports zone in that city, into full operation.
This was agreed during the recent joint visit of Minister of Economic Development Jakov Milatović and MP Vladimir Martinović to that municipality.
The Ministry of Economic Development (MEK) announced that the sports hall was recently reconstructed, but that the facade is in a state of disrepair and that further investments are necessary in order to enable adequate use of the facility and utilize all its spatial capacities.
As they stated, the Youth Center is a pressing problem that, in addition to reconstruction and investments, requires necessary solutions to the legal status of that facility.
"Putting the sports hall and the Youth Center into full operation increases the value of the sports zone in Kolašin, as well as other investments in it, in order to be ready to host the MOSI Games, but also to actively work on the development of that city as a center of sports tourism", it is said. in the announcement.
In this direction, the Ministry of Economic Development, as they announced, will initiate the procedure of examining and determining all facts related to the legal status of the State-owned Youth Center, as well as determining the value of maintenance and reconstruction works, all with the aim of capital budgeting for the following year, they determined the funds for the adaptation and commissioning of that facility.
"This can significantly improve the sports offer of the city and contribute to the fact that, together with the equipment of the sports zone, Kolašin becomes an address for the preparation of athletes, both at the individual level, as well as at the club and representative level," says the announcement.
The Ministry said that in this way it will show a responsible attitude towards those facilities that are of great importance, and "were neglected by the previous government for many years".
Martinović pointed out to Milatović the great potential for the development of sports infrastructure and sports tourism in Kolašin, first of all, through the realization of the sports zone construction project and pointed out that he will support the Government in its efforts to put state resources to the best function.
He pointed out that he was pleased with Milatović's promise that he would make an effort to ensure that the capital budget for the next year includes rehabilitation and resolution of both the legal and infrastructural conditions of the Youth Center in Kolašin.
Martinović said that it is unacceptable that the previous government years ago did not have an ear for such and similar objects and, as he said, allowed them to decay in front of all citizens due to the lack of desire for adequate valorization.
That facility, as stated, is located next to the sports hall close to the sports fields, so its adaptation is necessary and very important for Kolašin.
"That investing in the development of sports and sports tourism is a good investment for the country, Milatović was confirmed on the spot by the famous Montenegrin basketball player Vlado Šćepanović and his son Vuk, who pointed out that Kolašin is an ideal place for the preparation of athletes," says the announcement.
As stated, in this way it would be ensured that future generations of athletes grow up and progress in Kolašina, which is an indisputable national interest.
