The Cetinje committee of the Citizens' Movement URA condemned yesterday's attack on the Democrat councilor Danilo Mrvaljević and said that Montenegro and Cetinje must continue to inherit the right to free expression, political action and different thinking.
We condemn every form of violence and radicalization that is increasingly present these days, they added.
"We remember much more difficult times when the war was raging in the territory of the former Yugoslavia, and our Cetinje was then recognized as a place of coexistence and tolerance. We want it to be like that today and we will strongly advocate for it," they announced.
They emphasized that they want Montenegro as a democratic community that will promote parliamentarism and freedom of speech as the greatest value of a democratic system.
"We appeal once again to all actors on the importance of calming tensions and making a joint contribution to preserving peace and security of all citizens," the announcement states.
