The management of railway transport, the legal department, the first and second instance commission for extraordinary events on the railway, will present to the state prosecutor all the legal regulations related to extraordinary events in railway traffic, in order not to repeat the situation where the train driver is treated as a defendant, but as a witness. and especially in cases where it is evident that he performed his work conscientiously, it was stated in the announcement of the Ministry of Capital Investments after today's meeting.
The reason for the meeting is the dissatisfaction of the train drivers because the basic prosecutor's office from Bijelo Polje filed criminal charges against their colleague Nikola Perović due to suspicions that he is guilty of the accident on September 4, 2021, when Dž.K. was seriously injured. when crossing the railway line where it is prohibited.
The train drivers have announced a warning strike until the complete suspension of work, because they will not work in conditions where they can be blamed for the injuries of irresponsible citizens who cross the railway.
"d They stated that their colleague respected the entire procedure, that he drove at the permitted speed, sounded the warning horn when he noticed the woman and immediately started braking, but that the train could not stop in such a short distance. They also said that Perović was tested to alcohol and that it was negative.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Capital Investments Mladen Bojanić, State Secretary Zoran Radunović, Acting General Director of the Directorate for Railway Traffic Dragana Lukšić, Chief Inspector for Railway Traffic Veselin Mandić, as well as the President of the Board of Directors Veselin Ivanović and Executive Director of ŽPCG Slaven Šestović.
As stated in the announcement, all those present agree that all legal regulations related to the field of railway traffic should be submitted to the prosecutor's office as a matter of urgency, so that this situation does not happen again.
