An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 on the Richter scale was strongly felt in Montenegro.
The epicenter was in Albania, near the border with Montenegro, 11 kilometers east of Podhum.
"The seismology sector of the Institute of Hydrometeorology and Seismology registered an earthquake of lesser intensity with an epicenter 15 km east of Podhum (Montenegro) on September 2021, 4, at 19 hours and 11 minutes. The magnitude of this earthquake at the hypocenter (focal point) was is 4.1 units on the Richter scale, which corresponds to an epicentral intensity of V degrees on the Mercalli scale (MCS). The epicenter of this earthquake was located at a depth of 16 km," the Institute's announcement states.
This earthquake could not cause material damage in the epicentral area.
After about twenty minutes, a smaller earthquake with a magnitude of 3,4 on the Richter scale followed.
