A free psychological counseling center for young people, intended for people aged 13 to 25, has been opened in the Town Hall in Nikšić, which will be open on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 16 p.m.
Opening the counseling center, where psychologists Nikola Mijušković and Ivana Jokić will work, the President of the Municipality Marko Kovačević said that it is important that young people have somewhere to go and whom to turn to for help.
"When we conceived this idea, we were guided by the fact that today psychological support and counseling work are very necessary for young people and that there really is a limit, because it is an expensive service that young people and their families often cannot finance and send in to the extent that it is necessary to create some positive changes", Mijušković said.
As he pointed out, the counseling center is not a story that will target exclusively people who have some problems in the mental spectrum, but they also want to focus on healthy people who need an additional impulse to make their life stories richer and to be better in every sense.
Work with young people in the counseling center is conceived as individual or in small groups, and later educational workshops are also planned.
"I hope that young people will not hesitate and will not have prejudices to make an appointment with a psychologist and show up. And when they appear for the first time and the story gets an introduction, I'm sure that everything will be easier", said Mijušković.
He thanked the representatives of the local administration for showing sensitivity to this issue and supporting the opening of the first service of its kind in the town near Trebjes.
