The President of the Municipality of Tivat Željko Komnenović hosted a delegation of businessmen from Romania and discussed with them the possibilities of establishing cooperation in the field of EU projects, as well as other ways of connecting Tivat with the cities and regions of Romania.
The delegation was led by the consul of the Embassy of Romania in Montenegro, Radu Gorincioi.
"The guests informed the local Tivat administration about the possibility of joining the initiative of the Dolj district to establish the European Group for Territorial Cooperation (EGTC), together with other cities from Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro and Croatia. This initiative will connect the regions and cities of the three EU member states and the cities and areas of the countries that aspire to become such and participate together in the implementation of EU projects." - announced on the occasion from the local administration of Tivat.
Komnenović expressed his readiness to cooperate on this basis.
He introduced the guests to the local social and economic circumstances, and pointed out that the main priority of the local administration headed by him is the creation of new jobs, sustainable development and diversification of economic branches that would contribute to the further development of the city.
The President of the Municipality introduced the guests to the fact that he recently gave a positive opinion on the initiative of establishing a direct airline on the route Tivat - Craiova (Romania). In the local administration of Tivat, they see this as a prerequisite for the intensification of cooperation between the two cities and the two states.
The participants of the meeting exchanged experiences and practical aspects of potential further cooperation, and there was also talk of achieving fraternal relations between Tivat and the cities of Romania.
