Lim was flooded with white foam yesterday, which is most likely released in the Industrial Zone in Nedakusi.

Fishermen who spoke to "Vijesti" said that this is an almost daily occurrence, especially on weekends, when harmful chemicals are released into Lim.

The Water Administration informed "Vijesta" that they are aware of the latest case of waste discharge in Lim and that they will take actions within their jurisdiction. They point out that the Bjelo Polje dairy "Milka MDK" will be closed if it does not build a collector by December 1. They note that it is the only company in Bijelo Polje and Berane, which currently discharges waste into Lim.

However, the dairy claims that they do not release any chemicals into Lim.

"Yesterday we caught fish normally, since this morning we only see them jumping out of the water. It is unbelievable that the state is unable to stand in the way of further poisoning of the rivers and through them, us people," said the fishermen.

Fishkeeper Meša Hasanović was on the spot with the "Vijesti" team, and said that toxic chemicals are being released into Lim in the Industrial Zone from the "MIlka MDK" dairy, and that he previously noticed that they were also occasionally released from "Mesopromet".

Just a few meters below those two factories, you can see the drains, which Hasanović claims are from those two factories.

Around the drain of the huge concrete pipe "Mesopromet" deposits of sludge and various substances can be seen, while around the drain of the dairy, an unbearable stench can be noticed, the sludge coming out of the pipes, which creates a white foam, similar to the one downstream of the Gošina bridge, towards the border with Serbia.

"This is how Lim is almost every day. I have been working for over 20 years and this happens almost every day. This is a disgrace and a shame," said Hasanović.

He pointed out that the foam has a very bad effect on the fish stock.

"It is a catastrophe. The fishermen are rebelling, protesting, I don't know what is being done anymore. The only thing is that we have good cooperation with the local inspector Vukajlo Đalović, and occasionally, upon our invitation, the water inspector also comes."

He notes that the fishermen and SRD "Sinjavac" have repeatedly addressed the competent institutions, but that there was no solution.

The Water Administration announced that the company "Mesopromet" has a collector for the purification of waste water, but that the dairy "Milka MDK" has not installed it yet. They point out that the water inspector is aware of today's accede and will take appropriate administrative measures.

"The administrative procedure started by the water inspector is ongoing, and in that procedure, at the end of last year, a decision was made ordering the dairy 'Milka MDK doo' to obtain a water permit for the discharge of waste water into the recipient of the Lima watercourse within a certain period. Since the decision was not implemented within the six-month deadline, a request to initiate misdemeanor proceedings was initiated against the company "Milka MDK" and the responsible person in the subject of supervision. At the same time, the water inspector gave way to the administrative enforcement of the decision, in such a way that the dairy was fined two thousand euros, and at the same time, as required by the administrative procedure, the subject of supervision was given another deadline until December 1 of this year, to act according to ordered by the administrative measures from the aforementioned decision", announced the Water Administration.

As they state, after the deadline, "if the subject of supervision does not act according to the ordered administrative measures, there is a possibility of a work ban, i.e. closing of the dairy".

The same procedure was initiated by the Directorate for Inspection Affairs against the company Vodovod "Bistrica" Bijelo Polje, due to the lack of a wastewater treatment system.

In June, the water supply company was also fined 2.000 euros, and their six-month deadline expires these days.

The owner of the company "Put Gross", which also owns the dairy "Milka MDK", Hasan Ramović said that the dairy does not release any toxic chemicals into Lim and that it is an unnecessary pursuit of that factory since before, when in Lim there was a fish plague.

"That chase dates back to the fish crisis two years ago, and according to all estimates so far, the dairy has no fault for the fish crisis at that time. All of this was an initial opportunity to fully investigate whether the existing installations and technology could be the cause of any pollution of the river, and it was determined that there is no danger. However, even though this is the case, we are in negotiations with a Belgrade company and in the coming period we will build a collector for the purification of waste water, even though the same company informed us that there is no need for that installation, which will additionally purify the water, which does not pose any danger without purification." , said Ramović.
