The Dance Federation of Montenegro (PSCG) announced today that the holding of the event "ADF Stage Dance World Championship Bu2DanceFestival" in the period between October 15 and 17, 2021 in the hotel "Splendid" is illegitimate.
They added that this competition was organized by a club that is not a member of PSCG.
"Referring to the Law on Sports, the holding of the world championship, as the organizers called it, is possible only under the auspices of the national association and the approval of the Government of Montenegro. We note that PSCG is the only registered dance association in our country. Therefore, we have a case of deception of the general public and participants of the competition itself, clubs and children who did not score a single point at the "world championship" - which is not the case in legitimate championships," PSCG said in a press release.
They added that "misleading children that they are world champions is a serious challenge for the competent authorities, but also a clear social challenge in the further development of the youngest".
"On the occasion of this event, we informed the Sports Inspectorate, the Youth Administration and the Ministry of Public Administration, Digital Society and Media, all in order to protect licensed sports clubs and licensed PSCG competitors," the announcement reads.
Chairman of PSCG, Vuk Vukašinović, said that he would leave dealing with this topic to the competent authorities.
"He invites all interested clubs who want to engage in sports dance to approach the PSCG and all interested individuals to join legally registered clubs. The best results will certainly be recognized by the PSCG, with clearly defined rules and conditions for achieving success," he concludes. in the press release of PSCG.
As proof that we reacted and received feedback from the Sports Inspectorate, we are attaching the document received from it, in the hope that you will publish a statement in the interest of the wider public.
