The Minister of Health of Montenegro, Dr. Jelena Borovinić Bojović, will lead the delegation of the Government of Montenegro during an official visit to the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin from Thursday, October 21 to Monday, October 25.
During the visit to the partners from the Robert Koch Institute, a Memorandum on the cooperation of this institution with the Institute for Public Health of Montenegro will be signed.
The memorandum will strengthen the existing cooperation, which the Ministry of Health highly values, given that it came at a demanding moment in the fight against the COVID pandemic. The upcoming cooperation will be especially focused on the prevention and management of epidemics of infectious diseases, but also on the bilateral exchange of personnel in the context of study visits. An important topic will be the management of the Crisis Operations Center, the formation and construction of which is also planned in Podgorica, within the IJZCG, and which will function according to the model of European centers.
On this occasion, the delegation will also visit one of the largest university hospitals in Europe, Charite. We remind you that earlier in Podgorica I formed the Association of Clinical Associates of Montenegro (MoCCA) whose members, in addition to the KCCG and the Charité University Clinic, also include the Robert Koch Institute and the Institute for Public Health of Montenegro.
It is expected that Montenegro will receive support in the field of improving supervision over the consumption of antibiotics, but also over infections caused by resistance to the use of these drugs.
In addition, the staff of the Charite University Hospital will, as announced, provide professional assistance in connection with the accreditation of hospitals initiated by the Commission formed under the Ministry of Health of Montenegro.
Also, on Sunday, October 24, the delegation will attend the opening of the World Health Summit in Berlin, which is being held under the auspices of Chancellor Angela Merkel, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of France Emmanuel Macron and Director General of the World Health Organization Tedros A. Gebrehesus.
The Ministry of Health of Montenegro is especially grateful to the Ambassador of Germany to our country Dr. Robert Weber and the World Health Organization for their dedicated work in order to improve the Montenegrin health system, and the highest European standards are our goal.
In addition to the Minister of Health, the delegation also includes the director of KCCG, Dr. Ljiljana Radulović, director of IJZCG Dr. Igor Galić, epidemiologist Milica Stanišić, manager of the quality system of IJZCG Miljana Pavličić and adviser to the Prime Minister Ananija Jovanović.
