Montenegrin police, at all levels, remain committed to the process of accepting and providing protection to LGBTI persons and to the development of their own capacities and sensibility of police officers, said the director of the Police Administration (UP), Zoran Brđanin.
Today, he and acting assistant director Dragan Gorović met with representatives of non-governmental organizations LGBT Forum Progress and LGBTIQ Social Center - Žona Barac and Milica Špajak.
In the joint statement of the UP and non-governmental organizations, it is stated that during the meeting, the multi-year good cooperation between the Police Administration and LGBTI organizations in Montenegro was highlighted, as well as the contribution that the UP makes in the process of empowerment and acceptance of LGBTI persons in the country.
"In addition to the above, the focus of the meeting was future cooperation and further support of the Police Administration to the programs and initiatives of the LGBT Forum Progress and the LGBTIQ Social Center, improving the work of the Trust Team and its greater operability, as well as solving the issue of "Nikšić pride", the announcement states.
