The Institute for Social and Educational Policy announced today that it is untrue that representatives of the citizens' group Nikolina Aprcović and Sara Kastratović, at a meeting with representatives of the General Hospital in Bar, demanded that they control the work of the department in that hospital, but that it was taken out of context.

The Institute for Social and Educational Policy reacted to the announcement of the General Hospital in Bar.

In addition to Aprcović and Kastratović, the statement was signed by Mitar Radonjić, executive director of the Institute for Social and Educational Policy, in front of 19 NGOs.

"We are forced to react to the "conclusions" from the meeting with the management of the hospital in Bar because they were not agreed with us so that they could be treated as conclusions, and then due to the fact that several untruths were stated in the same, but let's start in order. First, the conclusions from the meeting of any kind must be agreed upon by all participants or someone may have a separate opinion, but apparently the management of the Bar hospital does not know that because they "ran" faster/better to address the media and try to create a false image in the media in order not to reduce anger and criticism that they suffered from the decision makers from Podgorica," the announcement states.

The Institute for Social and Educational Policy adds that "the basic culture and expression of respect for gender equality is that you do not impose the gender role of a lawyer on Ms. Mijović, but a lawyer, but we certainly leave that to the management, and it is up to us to point out that women and men are equal in all areas in Montenegro It burns unless that is the case in the Bar hospital, which would not surprise us".

"Secondly, they finally admitted that they need to improve the attitude of doctors and medical staff towards patients and thus justified all our activities because something that is good is not being improved, and for this we thank them. Thirdly, it is untrue that the representatives of the citizens' group demanded that they control the work of the department at the Bar hospital has already been taken out of context. The representatives of the citizens' group asked for the introduction of additional external and independent control of the department that would work transparently and that's all. We ask the management of the Bar hospital not to use falsehoods because medical ethics do not go together with untruth, although taking into account recent events it is obvious that the Bar hospital is doing well. Furthermore, it is true that the protests will not stop, on the contrary - they will intensify until the situation in the Bar hospital improves and there are no negotiations," the statement reads. of the Institute for Social and Educational Policy.

They state that they are especially pleased by the fact that the Bar hospital stated that "Mr. Hot (husband of the deceased woman in labor) presented the observed irregularities, but both in this obscure statement and in yesterday's meeting, the management had no answer and no excuse".

"In the future, we advise the management of the Bar hospital to stand behind their announcements with their name and surname, and why not with their academic title, as we do in front of a group of citizens and NGOs, because at the end of the day, a man keeps his word and a man's title is much more important than anything which others, even doctoral ones. Also, the representatives of the citizens put forward a number of concrete proposals, such as a foundation for a maternity hospital, which is a positive practice in developed countries, which the management failed to mention in its announcement, for reasons known to them," reads the announcement that signed by Aprcović and Kastratović and Radonjić.

They further state that "they are obliged to mention that the representative of NGO group 19, Mitar Radonjić, was prevented from coming yesterday due to health reasons, but that today at the protest he will present what he did not have the opportunity to do yesterday".

"Hereby, we invite the "management" of the Bar hospital to attend the protest today, when they already have time to write and send statements, and in direct conversation with the citizens who express their rebellion completely peacefully, come to a common solution instead of copying with us through the media because they will to pass this, they will have to improve their work and we will have to use their services, and the only difference is whether during that process we will do it with a feeling of human warmth and a mutual smile on our faces, or we will be remembered for the distance and inability to understand that it expresses" management" and we deliberately use quotation marks because we cannot really know who we are addressing because the announcements are signed on behalf of the management, which once again tells us, for the umpteenth time, how distant the doctors of the Bar hospital are from their patients when they will not even put their name below announcements.
