From today, celebrations and weddings are prohibited, night clubs are closed

The new epidemiological measures, which will be in force from today, prohibit New Year's celebrations, outdoor and indoor weddings, as well as the operation of nightclubs.

Minister of Health Jelena Borovinić Bojović said on Friday, at a press conference, that the current epidemiological measures were neither respected nor controlled, and that there is no longer a classic lockdown because the focus is on vaccination.

Borovinić Bojović said that the new measures prohibit the organization of outdoor New Year's celebrations, that is, concerts and mass gatherings, the organization of outdoor and indoor weddings, as well as the operation of nightclubs.

She said that the work of catering facilities is limited until midnight, and that the organization of student excursions and trips, private celebrations and birthdays is prohibited.

Borovinić Bojović stated that staying in houses and apartments is recommended only for members of the same household.

"The government is still considering the possibility of introducing the obligation to have a national digital COVID certificate from December 1 for the entire public administration - health, education, the Police Directorate and the Army," Borovinić Bojović said.

She said that, if these measures are adopted, the national COVID certificate will be necessary to enter public transport, shopping centers, gyms, business premises and buildings in which more than three companies, i.e. entrepreneurs, operate, and in facilities with an area over thousand square meters where non-food retail trade is carried out.

"The introduction of the covid certificate was not designed to violate someone's rights, but to save someone's life," Borovinić Bojović pointed out.
