Yesterday, the Directorate for Arrangement and Construction signed a contract with the company Dema, which should repair the damaged parts of the rampart wall above the southern city gate in that municipality.
On October 27, the Directorate made a decision to initiate the emergency procurement procedure, with the explanation that the wall could collapse at any moment and endanger the lives of passers-by.
"The damaged parts of the rampart wall are located on the southern side of the ramparts of the Old Town, in the part of the southern city gate - Gurdić. Due to the pressure of the earth, the influence of vegetation, the washing of mortar and the loosening of the wall structure, some stone blocks collapsed... The work should be started before the tourist season. We emphasize that the mentioned location is highly frequented and that it must be rehabilitated as soon as possible", stated the Directorate.
The renovation of the damaged wall, as written in the contract, will cost around 15.000 euros, and the work should be completed in 40 days.
